An uninsured teenage driver ploughed into a woman and her 19-month-old daughter as they crossed the road.

Michael Bonfield, who was under a driving ban, was on the wrong side of the road when he caused the horror crash.

Livingston Sheriff Court heard both the mum and her infant were badly injured.

Bonfield, 19, who now lives in Norwich, pleaded guilty to several charges yesterday following the incident in Whitburn on September 27 last year.

Sheriff John Rafferty called for reports and adjourned the case for four weeks.
