Bathgate teenager injured in bike fall

A TEENAGE mountain biker from the Lothians has suffered a serious head injury after an accident in a forest in the Borders.

The 14-year-old boy from Bathgate, West Lothian, fell from his bike on the cycling track at Glentress Forest, near Peebles, on Sunday afternoon.

He was airlifted from the scene by heli-med and taken to Glasgow’s Southern General Hospital, where his injuries are described as “serious” but are not thought to be life-threatening.
