A CHURCH minister has slammed the so-called bedroom tax ahead of the opening of a new food bank.
A choir will perform when the service opens at Newkirkgate Shopping Centre in Leith tomorrow morning.
Minister of South Leith Parish Church Rev Iain May said: “Utility bills are going up, rent is going up, people are having to find money to pay the bedroom tax.
“It is food that suffers. People just run out of money and they have literally nothing left to put food on the table.”
