Bid to build new homes dismissed

A BID to create four new homes on agricultural land in the Lothians has been thrown out by council chiefs amid concerns the development would be “harmful” to the landscape.

Mr and Mrs Paul and Leslie Spoors put forward a planning application to create the homes on land to the south of Hilltown House in Woolmet, Dalkeith, Midlothian.

But councillors ruled that the houses “would not be satisfactorily integrated into the landscape”.
