Blaze drama at mansion

Have your say

A BLAZE broke out at a historic Midlothian mansion yesterday.

Four fire engines rushed to Arniston House, in Gorebridge, at around 2pm.

A bin had caught fire and flames spread to a boiler room at the Palladian-style mansion house.

Fire crews dealt with the blaze and remained at the scene for around an hour. No-one required treatment.

The mansion was the birthplace of Henry Viscount Melville and two Lord Presidents of the Court of Session.
