Bluebell walk raises £750 for assistance dog charity

A bluebell walk has raised £750 for Canine Partners in Scotland, a charity that provides highly trained assistance dogs to people with disabilities.

The event at Dalkeith Country Estate was the first ever walk to take place in Scotland as part of the National Canine Partners Bluebell Walk Campaign.

Over fifty walkers took part along with twenty dogs. Walkers set off from Stable Yard at Dalkeith Country Estate covering a distance of one mile through blankets of bluebells.

Walk organiser Dale Gormley said: “It was fantastic to see so many people take part. We were lucky the weather was kind to us and we plan to make this an annual event for the area. The money raised will go towards continuing the work of Canine Partners in Scotland and changing the lives of those with disabilities.”

Canine Partners in Scotland is always looking for volunteers, fundraisers and puppy parents from the surrounding area. If you are able to help, please call 08454 811 915 for further information.
