Bodies of man and woman found in Scotsman Hotel

THE BODY of a man and a woman have been found in a room at Edinburgh’s Scotsman Hotel on North Bridge.

It is understood that police and firefighters are investigating a possible chemical incident and the sixth floor of the hotel has been evacuated.

Part of the road has been closed while investigations continue.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: “Emergency services are in attendance at the Scotsman Hotel on North Bridge where the bodies of a man and a woman were discovered in a room around 12.15 today.

“Inquiries are at an early stage and the deaths are being treated as unexplained at this time.”

There is not believed to be any wider risk to guests or staff at the hotel as a result of this incident.
