Body of woman, 21, found in Edinburgh's Firth of Forth after major rescue effort

Police, paramedics and coastguard crews raced to South Queensferry yesterday evening.

The body of a 21-year-old woman has been recovered from the Firth of Forth after a major police and coastguard operation.

Police, paramedics and the RNLI were called to South Queensferry yesterday evening after the alarm was raised at around 7.30pm.

There are no suspicious circumstances involved in the death, according to police.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “Around 7.30pm on Monday, 10 June, 2024, we received a report of a person in the water at South Queensferry.

“Officers attended and the body of a 21-year-old woman was recovered from the River Forth with the assistance of partner agencies.

“There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
