THE funeral of a city teenager who died suddenly after being diagnosed with a rare condition will be held this week.
Brandon Walker, 14, died at Great Ormond Street Hospital just a week after going to the doctors complaining of being breathless.
Specialists found the devoted Hibs fan was suffering a heart and lung condition which affects just one in 55 million people.
He was airlifted to Great Ormond Street in London, where he was on the priority list for a lung transplant. However, he died on Friday, December 4.
His funeral service will be held at Seafield Cemetery on Thursday at 1pm. Brandon will be buried in a Hibs coffin, which will be driven past Easter Road on the way to Seafield.
Trinity Academy pupil Brandon, of Granton Place, fell ill at the end of November.
His mother Bernadette said she was overwhelmed by the support in the community.
