Brass in pocket

POLICE are asking scrap dealers for help after brass plaques were stolen from a golf club.

The plaques, which were on concrete blocks at the tee-off zones, were taken from Dunbar Golf Club, in East Lothian, between 3pm on Monday and 7.30am on Tuesday.

A police spokesman said: “The brass plaques have most likely been stolen to be sold on as scrap metal and we will be engaging with local scrap dealers. We are also conducting local inquiries to identify those responsible.”
