Brickie fined for kicking man in head

A BRICKLAYER who kicked a man in the head during a drunken bust-up has been fined £200.

Ross Gannon, 25, saw red after seeing his girlfriend being pushed to the ground by John Dickson during an argument outside Newtongrange Star FC’s ground on September 18.

Edinburgh Sheriff Court yesterday heard that police had witnessed the incident involving Gannon’s girlfriend and restrained Dickson.

Depute fiscal Iain Batho said Gannon then pounced on the man and assaulted him, causing him to suffer minor injuries.

Gannon pleaded guilty to an assault charge on Thursday.

Sheriff Roderick MacLeod said Gannon’s behaviour was completely unacceptable.
