A spokesman for Edinburgh Airport said they were working with Police Scotland to ensure minimum disruption to passengers.

But Police Scotland declined to reveal details of their security measures, citing “operational reasons”.

A number of people were killed or seriously injured in this morning’s blasts at Zaventem airport and Maelbeek metro station.

Belgium has now raised its terror threat to the highest level.
