IT has been one of the most eagerly awaited developments in recent years, and the Evening News was given a sneak peek inside Edinburgh’s flagship new Primark before the official opening tomorrow.

The Princes Street branch of the budget fashion firm, which employs 557 staff, is spread over five storeys and 75,000 square feet.

City council chiefs hope the store will help attract shoppers back to Princes Street.

The design includes a new pedestrian link between Princes Street and Rose Street as well as views on to the Castle.
