Bus tours on offer at depot

The secrets and history of Lothian Buses will be revealed as the firm opens the doors of its central depot to the public.

The event, which runs from noon-4pm and is part of Doors Open Day, follows a successful tour last year which attracted more than 1000 visitors.

Organisers have added to the bill this year, with a guided garage tour on an open-top bus, trips through the bus wash, a line-up of historic buses and a training bus for kids to enjoy.

Dr Steve Johnson, event organiser, said: “We have been involved with Doors Open Day for more than five years and it’s a great opportunity for the public to come and see how our operation works, along with finding out the fascinating history of both the company and central depot in its former guise as Edinburgh’s Industrial Hall.”
