Buses diverted as police cordon off part of busy Edinburgh road

Emergency services are attending the scene of an incident in a busy city road.

Duddingston Park South has been cordoned off by Police Scotland following what is understood to have been a car crash.

A dark-coloured hatchback – which has suffered significant damage to its front nearside – is sitting side-on and blocking part of the street. A number of police vehicles, including a road traffic patrol car, are on the scene. Local residents reported hearing a number of sirens in the minutes after the incident.

The incident had led to a number of bus services being diverted.

Lothian Buses posted: “Due to a road closure buses are unable to serve Duddingston Park South and are instead diverted via Milton Road and Milton Link until further notice. This affects affects services 49, 104 and X7.”

Police Scotland has been contacted for comment and asked for further details of the incident.
