Buyers look at toffee firm

SCORES of jobs could be saved at the makers of Highland Toffee after two possible buyers for the company came forward.

New McCowans, which employs 90 staff in Broxburn. West Lothian, went into administration earlier this week.

But after talks involving the company, unions and Falkirk MP Eric Joyce, it is understood a solution could be close to find a new investor.
