Campaign hits road to seize proceeds of crime

AN advert trailer will tour West Lothian to promote a new campaign encouraging members of the public to report assets which can be seized from criminals.

The Made from Crime campaign will see a massive expansion of the Proceeds of Crime Act to target any criminal who profits from their offending.

There will also be posters and postcards on display in busy areas across West Lothian to encourage residents to come forward.

The 20-foot high ad trailer will be on display at various locations in Livingston, Broxburn and Bathgate town centre.

Superintendent Graham Jones said “This campaign sends out a strong message that Lothian and Borders Police will not tolerate criminals profiting from crime in West Lothian.

“All of us have a role in tackling crime and keeping our communities safe and I would appeal to the people of West Lothian to report any suspicions, no matter how insignificant they may seem, either to the police directly or via Crimestoppers.”
