Further searches at a commercial property in Home Street uncovered 28 mature cannabis plants and about 3kg of “herbal matter”.

The recovered drugs have a potential street value of £45,000, police said.

The men, aged 31 and 33, have been charged with drugs and serious and organised crime offences, officers confirmed. They were set to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court.

Detective Inspector Paul Grainger said: “Once again, vital intelligence from our communities has resulted in large quantities of drugs and cash being seized.
