POLICE are appealing for help after a dog walker was forced to hand over cash and his bank card by two knife-wielding thugs.

The 36-year-old victim was on a footpath that links Prestonpans and Tranent when he was robbed.

Both suspects are white, of medium build, aged around 20, 5ft 10in tall, with short dark hair.

The first man was wearing a grey lightweight jacket with a hood and dark blue jeans. The second man was wearing a navy hooded top and blue jeans. The incident happened at 5pm on Monday.

A Lothian and Borders Police spokesman appealed for witnesses and said: “Anyone who was in the area, who saw the two suspects there, should contact police immediately.

“Similarly, anyone else who recognises their descriptions, or who has any information, should also get in touch.”
