Police have released CCTV images of a man they want to question in connection with a serious assault in an Edinburgh pub.

The assault happened at around 11.30pm on Thursday, April 24, at the Mash Tun on Easter Road. The victim was left with facial injuries which could leave permanent scars.

The man in the image is described as white, Scottish and around 6ft 3 tall.

He is of heavy/muscular build, with short-shaved dark hair, clean shaven and at the time he was wearing a dark grey zip-up hooded top and dark workman-style bottoms.

Officers believe that he may be known as “Ross” or “Bambi”.

Detective Sergeant Lynsey Thomson said: “Anyone with information or anyone who recognises the man in the image is asked to contact police officers on 101, or if you prefer to remain anonymous you can direct your call to Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.”
