Charge over £575k of drugs

A MAN has been committed for trial on a charge of possessing more than half a million pounds’ worth of cannabis.

Gary Weir, 38, appeared on petition at Livingston Sheriff Court yesterday to face the charges.

He made no plea or declaration to charges of supplying cannabis resin and possessing cocaine.

Weir, from Whitburn, West Lothian, was refused bail and remanded in custody.

The drugs, estimated to be worth £575,000 were allegedly found in a van which he was driving.
