Check out Jamie and Shoony in first headline gig

MEMBERS of a Capital-based indie rock outfit who made their name by shooting a music video in an Asda store are to play their first headline gig next month.

Edinburgh group Jamie and Shoony will take to the main stage of Cabaret Voltaire after scooping a One To Watch award at last week’s Radio Forth Awards. The success comes after the group famously stunned shoppers in Asda at The Jewel by shooting a rock video in the store.

The band members – singer Jamie Keir, 22, guitarist Shoony Kowalski, 20, and drummer Richard Neil, 22 – said momentum had continued to build since the video was made.

Jamie said: “We brought in a new drummer and managed to get some
festival slots at events like the Band Stand and the Spiegeltent during the Fringe, and then there was the Forth Awards.

“It’s an amazing feeling knowing we’ll be gigging at Cabaret Voltaire.”

Jamie and Shoony are also to perform at Gorgie Suite at Tynecastle Stadium for the Save Our Hearts Rally this
Sunday.
