Child pervert facing prison

A PERVERT who subjected two little girls to a series of sexual assaults has been warned to expect jail.

David Cumming, 52, preyed on the children – who cannot be named for legal reasons – at addresses in Hawick and Edinburgh between August 1985 and June 1990.

Prosecution lawyer Alison Di Rollo told the High Court in Edinburgh that Cumming would buy his victims presents before assaulting them.

She added: “He would regularly buy sweets and he tell them that it was their little secret.”

Cumming, of Tranent, East Lothian, was arrested last year and yesterday pleaded guilty to five charges of sexual abuse.

The judge deferred sentence until June 14. He said: “The imposition of a lengthy custodial sentence looks most likely.”
