Citizens Advice remit change

THE remit of Citizens Advice Bureaux across the Lothians is to be extended to champion consumer information, advice and advocacy under new Westminster proposals.

Among the planned reforms is the transferring of government funding for the national coordination of consumer advice and information from the OFT to the Citizens Advice service from April 2013.

Dominic Notarangelo, chair of Citizens Advice Scotland said: “This will not change the way CAB operates on a day-to-day level. The only difference is that we will now offer even more services.”
