World renowned drinks company, Pernod Richard SA, has won a ruling that an Edinburgh man must hand over to them an internet domain name he registered in their name.
Nominet, the internet registration dispute resolution body, has ruled that Alex Warren of 34, Links Place, Edinburgh, must hand over the name he registered - pernod-ricard-uk.co.uk – to the famous Paris based company.
Stephen Richards, the expert called in to rule on the dispute says in recently published findings that he considered Warren’s registration was “abusive.”
His findings say: “The complainant (Pernid Richard) has, to my reasonable satisfaction, shown that the domain name pernod-ricard-uk.co.uk is an abusive registration.”
As a result he continues: “The domain name will therefore be transferred to the Complainant.”
