Clipper crew bid for place

THE crew of the Capital’s entry in the Clipper Round The World yacht race are engaged in a tight tussle for third place as they cross the Pacific.

Fewer than 30 miles separate the Derry-Londonderry boat in third place and Edinburgh Inspiring Capital in sixth, with Qingdao and New York sandwiched in between.

The fleet are racing from Qingdao in China to San Francisco in the ninth race of the challenge, which is billed as the toughest of all the stages.
