A NIGHTCLUB reveller kicked a disabled woman in the head during a drunken fight.

Ashley Brodie, 22, attacked arthritis sufferer Hayley Burt when they clashed at Chalmers nightclub in Bathgate.

Livingston Sheriff Court was told Brodie’s memory of the attack was “somewhat vague” because she’d had too much to drink. Catherine Knowles, prosecuting, said the accused was seen lunging at Miss Burt in the club’s smoking area and pushing her to the ground. She then punched her victim on the head as they struggled.

Both women were ejected from the club but Brodie lunged at her again and this time kicked her on the head, Mrs Knowles said. Brodie, from Blackridge, pleaded guilty to assaulting the disabled woman to her injury on January 4 this year.

Darryl Lovie, defending, claimed Brodie had also been injured. He said: “It wasn’t immediately apparent that Miss Burt was a disabled person. My client apologises for her behaviour.”

Sheriff Douglas Kinloch yesterday fined Brodie £225. He told her: “You acted in an aggressive way which was entirely unacceptable.”
