Community group cleared by cash probe

A COMMUNITY council forced to suspend its activities after a probe was launched has been cleared of any financial wrongdoing.

The allegations concerning Granton Community Council related to the purchase of three laptops and IT equipment, worth more than £1700, bought with local authority money in September 2010.

Fred Marinello, chairman of Granton Community Council, was also accused of acting aggressively towards members at a meeting last year. He denied the claims.
