In yesterday’s Evening News, a story about Tollcross Newsagents and Grocers having it’s licence suspended for two months for selling alcohol to under-18s stated that shopkeeper Shafqat Sayed had been caught twice.

We have been asked to point out that on the first instance, in 2011, Mr Sayed denied he had sold alcohol to under-18s and was simply spoken to by officers who reminded him of his responsibilities.

• In yesterday’s Evening News, in a story about moves to curb supermarket moving into empty lots, it was stated that traders in Morningside were unhappy about a new Sainsbury’s opening up. We have been asked to point out that traders in the area actually welcome the move.
