Council seeks priority list

Residents in West Lothian are being invited to put forward their views on what the council’s priorities should be over the next five years.

The local authority also wants to hear how services can best be delivered in the face of severe financial pressures.

Chief executive Graham Hope said: “Due to our growing population, there is a need to spend more money on services which help children and older people, as well as meeting general cost pressures. Government funding is not enough to meet these increasing costs, resulting in a budget gap.

“This makes it all the more important that the services we provide have the greatest positive impact on the people, families and communities of West Lothian. We need to develop our plans and we want your opinion.”
