Police are appealing for witnesses after a series of cars were damaged on residential streets overnight in Craigentinny.

The damage occurred in the early hours of yesterday morning at around 5:40am when at least 15 cars were damaged in Loaning Road, Loaning Crescent and Loaning Mills.

Two suspects caused damage to the cars’ bodywork by standing on the vehicles.

The suspects are described as being white men, aged 15-17 years old, with slim builds.

The first suspect is 5ft 10inches tall with short dark hair, wearing a beige coloured jacket, black trousers and black trainers.

The second suspect is 5ft 9inches and was wearing a dark hooded top with a white band on the chest, dark trousers and dark trainers.

PS Keith Murray said: “This was a senseless act of vandalism which has caused damage to a number of people’s vehicles.

“This behaviour will not be tolerated and we urge anyone who may have seen the suspects, or who recognise their description, to come forward.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101 or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
