150 straw bales set on fire at farm

Around £3,000 worth of damage was caused at a farm in East Lothian yesterday, after straw bales were set on fire.

Approximately 150 bales of straw were set alight at Coulston Farm, which is situated on the Haddington to Bolton Road, sometime between 10am and 10.20am on Monday 1st September.

Inspector Alan Hogarth, who is based at Haddington, said: “The suspicion is that the bales were deliberately set on fire, causing a considerable amount of damage, and we are very keen to trace the person responsible.

“Anyone who saw anything suspicious in or around Coulston Farm on Monday morning or who has any information which may help our investigation is urged to contact Police Scotland on 101 or, alternatively, phone the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
