A man, armed with a knife, has robbed a post office in Armadale.

Police appealing for witnesses following the raid on Wednesday in Ochilview Square,

A 63-year-old man and a 19-year-old woman were in the shop when the raider presented a knife before demanding they open the cash drawer.

He then made off with a four-figure sum of money

Officers have since been conducting local enquiries in the area to identify the suspect and anyone who can assist with their investigation is asked to come forward.

The male is described as white and between 20 and 30-years-old. He was wearing a dark-coloured hat, dark scarf that obscured his face, dark jacket, dark tracksuit bottoms and gloves.

Detective Sergeant Craig Higgins said: “This was a frightening experience for the staff members. Though, thankfully, neither was injured during the incident.”
