Police are now looking into Gill's report from the morning of Saturday, October 26, after CCTV caught a blue Dodge 4x4 driving off.

"When my daughter and I came out of the gym to get in the car, my daughter said 'mummy what’s happened to your car'," Gill posted on Facebook.

"As I walked round to have a look at the passenger side, I could not believe my eyes. Someone had smashed into the side of my car and left no contact details."

Gill said camera footage shows a couple and their young child parking the blue Dodge in the car park and walking over the street to the parkour gym Room To Move.

"When they discovered it was closed they came back across to their car and proceeded to reverse into my car and then drove off," she added.

"If this is your neighbour, work colleague, friend or just someone you know, can you please PM me or ask them to hand themselves in to the police as this will have a better outcome for them in the long run.

"It’s very unfair that someone should think it’s OK to damage another’s property and leave them to pick up the bill."

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "We are aware of the matter and looking into it, anyone with any information should contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting 2544 of 26 October."
