Charge over station injury

A TEENAGER has appeared in court over an alleged incident at Waverley Station more than two years ago.

Nicola Scougal, 18, of Hopefield Terrace, Bonnyrigg, is accused of recklessly pressing an emergency stop button on an escalator, which caused a 62-year-old woman to fall.

Scougal pleaded not guilty at Edinburgh Sheriff Court yesterday.

Violet Roberts suffered two broken wrists in the fall.

Trial was fixed for August.
