The treatment of children at a notorious North Berwick care facility will be investigated under the next phase of the Scottish Child Abuse Inquiry.
Phase four of the inquiry will focus on Carlekemp in the East Lothian town and the conduct of the Order of Benedictines.
Witnesses will also be called for the Fort Augustus Abbey School in Inverness-shire.
The inquiry will deal with the Marist Brothers and their provision of care at St Joseph’s College in Dumfries and St Columba’s College in Largs, as well as the Christian Brothers’ involvement at Falkland’s St Ninians.
Inquiry chair Lady Smith said the case studies would focus on the provision of care by male religious orders. The hearings will re-start next summer.
