Driver and passenger arrested after £1500 cannabis haul in Wester Hailes

Officers recover large quantity of cannabis after stopping car

A driver and passenger have been arrested after testing positive for drugs and being found in possession of a four-figure sum of cannabis in Edinburgh.

Officers from Road Policing Scotland stopped the car they were travelling in during the early hours of Friday morning in the Wester Hailes area of the city.

The driver of the vehicle tested positive for cannabis, while the passenger was found to be in possession of £1500 worth of cannabis.

Both individuals have been arrested.

Blood obtained from the driver has been sent for analysis and they will be reported to the procurator fiscal if found to be over the limit.
