A woman has admitted willfully abandoning a two-year-old child who was in her care.
Gillian Coombe, 33, was in a drunken sleep inside her home while the toddler was unattended outside.
Livingston Sheriff Court heard the youngster was left in a manner likely to cause him unnecessary suffering or injury to health.
Coombe, of Ashgrove, Bathgate, pleaded guilty to committing the offence on September 13 last year.
She also pleaded guilty to possessing the class ‘B’ drug cannabis, and the court heard police found a controlled substance in the child’s pushchair.
Her not guilty plea to allowing her home to be used for the production of cannabis was accepted by the prosecution.
Sheriff Douglas Kinloch called for background reports. Coombe will be sentenced later.
