Dunfermline: Man charged after breaking coronavirus restrictions by opening pub

A Dunfermline man has been charged in connection with culpable and reckless conduct after a pub was found to be open, despite coronavirus restrictions.

Police attended the pub in Kirkgate on Friday, November 13 at 1.20pm to find the pub open and patrons inside.

A 53-year-old man was charged and will be the subject of a report to the Procurator Fiscal.

Area Commander Chief Inspector Paul Dick said: “There are currently clear regulations in place which apply to all licensed premises in the Fife area, and I would urge all landlords to adhere to them.

“Officers will be visiting licensed premises throughout Fife to check that they are operating safely, within the current guidelines and anyone who is caught breaching the rules will be held accountable.

“Anyone with information or concerns regarding a licensed premises in your area can contact Police Scotland through 101.”

Fife was is was moved to tier three which came into affect at 6am this morning.
