Edinburgh University incident described as '˜false alarm' by emergency services

Emergency services were scrambled to a building at Edinburgh University around midday.

It is understood the incident, which was described as a “false alarm” by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, took place in a laboratory on George Square.

Emergency services have now left the scene.
