Livingston sex attacker wanted by police

POLICE are hunting a sex attacker who dragged his victim into bushes in Livingston.

The attack happened in the Ryebank, Ladywell, between 9.45pm and 10.45pm on Thursday night.

Police said the victim was assaulted by a man who she had met earlier that evening. She had tried to leave his company, however he followed her from the Newyearfield area into Ryebank where he dragged her into an area of bushes located between two buildings and assaulted her. She raised the alarm, and he ran off towards the Knightsridge area.

The suspect is described as late 20s to early 30s, white, 5ft 5ins, with facial hair (described as a short beard), and wearing a black and grey hooded top, and a beanie hat.

Detective Chief Inspector Kenny Gray, from Police Scotland, said: “We are appealing to anyone that can assist our inquiries to come forward.”
