Man accused of West Lothian murder '˜was violent to ex-partners'

A man on trial for allegedly killing his wife was violent to previous partners, a court heard yesterday.

Former girlfriend Shona McLean, 38, claimed Erhan Havaleoglu “smacked” her across the face on one occasion in 2008.

She also described an incident while she was in the bath that she was pushed under the water until she blacked out after she told him to leave her house, and thought he had.

Ex-wife Lisa Clark, 43, claimed her marriage to Havaleoglu, 36, ended in October 2007 when he pinned her against a door after she confronted him about an alleged affair with a colleague.

Havaleoglu is on trial at the High Court in Paisley charged with murdering Leighanne Cameron on 28 October, 2015 at a house in Mid Calder, Livingston.

The trial continues.
