Man admits assault in Edinburgh street

A Dunbar man has pleaded guilty to a charge of assault following an incident in Edinburgh last year.

Andrew Donald admitted headbutting Alex Kelly in Ethel Terrace.

Donald, 57, also stood trial on a separate complaint after he denied attacking a man with a golf club near his home on July 16 this year.

He also denied resisting police arrest and to kicking a police officer on the body the following day.

Following a trial at Edinburgh Sheriff Court Donald, 57, was found guilty of the three offences by Sheriff Adrian Fraser.

Sentence on all matters was deferred to December 23.

Donald pleaded guilty to assaulting Alex Kelly at Ethel Terrace, Edinburgh, on November 11 last year.

He also admitted to possessing cannabis at Lochhouses Farm, Dunbar, on June 17 this year.

Donald was found also guilty after trial of assaulting Alex Mitchell on July 16 this year, and to resisting arrest and police assault on July 17 this year.
