A man has been arrested following an attack in Leith.

Police were called to a disturbance involving a group of people in Parliament Street at about 12.40pm today

One man was injured and has been taken to hospital with a head injury.

Another man has been arrested following the incident.

Enquiries are ongoing and police are appealing for information.

A police spokesman said: “Police Scotland was made aware of a disturbance involving a number of people on Parliament Street in Edinburgh around 12.40pm on Sunday, 19 April.

"One man has been taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary for treatment to a head injury.

"One man has been arrested and enquiries are ongoing. Anyone who may have information can call police on 101, quoting incident 1374 of 19 April."
