A man was beaten and robbed by two thugs as he walked his dog last night.
The incident occurred around 6.30pm to 7pm when the 31-year-old victim was walking along a path from The Murrays Brae into Burdiehouse Burn Park.
On his way back out past the burn, and nearing a grassy area, he became aware of someone behind him. As he turned around, he was punched to the side of his face and the two suspects demanded he hand over money.
The first suspect continued to assault him while the second suspect threatened him with a knife. The victim fell to the ground and the first suspect went through his pockets and took a sum of money. The suspects then fled back into the park.
The first suspect is described as white, 5ft 10 tall, 20 to 25 years old, slim build, and wearing a black hooded top with hood up, blue jeans and white Nike Air Max trainers
The second suspect is described as white, 5ft 10in tall, 20 to 25 years old, chubby build and wearing a black hooded top with hood up, black jeans and white trainers.
Detective Constable Emma Wilkinson said: “If anyone was in the area at the time, or recognises the description of the suspects, then we would urge them to contact Police Scotland on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
