Man held in East Lothian drugs probe

A MAN has been arrested and charged after £8000 worth of cannabis was found.

East Lothian CID stopped a vehicle in Inveresk Road, Musselburgh, on Wednesday and discovered a quantity of the drug.

A search of an address in Wallyford then found cannabis with a street value of around £8000 and a large amount of cash.

The 54-year-old man will appear in court at a later date.

Chief Inspector Matt Paden, local area commander for East Lothian, said: “Every day we gather intelligence on those involved in drug crime, and regularly carry out activity like this to seize harmful substances.

“I would continue to urge the public to come forward with information relating to ongoing drug offences in their area so we can respond and investigate.”
