A POLICE investigation has been launched after a man tried to get into a woman’s car on a country road near West Calder.
The 20-year-old woman was driving her Seat Leon around 5am on Saturday when she saw a man standing in the road.
He did not make any gestures towards her but she stopped her car and a second man approached the driver-side door and tried to open it.
He didn’t manage to gain access and she drove off. The men are white and around 25 to 35 years old.
Chief Inspector Paul Cameron of Livingston, said: “We are currently treating this as an isolated incident but are urging any witnesses, or anyone with information which can assist with our inquiries, to get in touch.
“If either of the men described hears this appeal, I would urge them to contact us so we can establish the full circumstances surrounding this.
“I’d also encourage all drivers to be sure to keep their car doors locked at all times.”
