Motorist tried to hit fellow driver in city road rage incident

Police in Edinburgh are appealing for information following a road rage incident in which a motorist drove his vehicle at another driver.

A heated dispute involving two male drivers unfolded on Brunton Terrace off London Road at around 3.15pm on Thursday, August 16.

One man was driving a green Volkswagen Passat and the other a black Nissan Navara.

It was during the exchange that the driver of the Passat drove his vehicle at low speed towards the other man.

The victim was not injured but police are keen to trace the suspect and have asked for members of the public to come forward to assist with their inquiries.

Sergeant John Easton from the Road Policing Unit at Fettes said: “At this time we do not know what was the cause of this altercation, but we are looking to trace the suspect as a matter of urgency, given the worrying escalation of the incident.

“We believe there was a woman in the area who witnessed what happened and would ask that she contact police as soon as possible.”
