Police are hunting a mugger wearing a white plastic skull mask who robbed a teenager at knifepoint in Livingston at the weekend.

The incident happened around 11.30pm on Sunday in Aller Place in the Eliburn area of the town.

The 19-year-old victim was threatened at knifepoint by the man and forced to hand over his mobile phone.

The suspect is described as around 5ft 10ins tall, medium build, with a local accent, and wearing a dark hooded top with the hood up, along with the mask.

Detective Sergeant Craig Higgins, from Police Scotland, said: “While the victim wasn’t injured, he was left badly shaken by the incident, and we are carrying out inquiries in the area to trace the suspect.

“As part of this we are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the robbery, or who was in the area on Sunday evening and was aware of someone wearing a skull mask, to contact police.

“Anyone else who has any information that can assist our inquiries should also get in touch.”

Anyone with information should contact Police Scotland on 101, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
