Four men have been convicted over the abduction and assault of a man in Edinburgh.
Hooman Sojoodi, 22, Arnold Nuta Mukueto, 23, Sanchez Facey, 23 and Glen Elamo, 20, were found guilty at Edinburgh High Court yesterday of abduction and assault to serious injury.
The men abducted Emmanuel Chidubem Emmanuel, now 27, from an address in the Hyvots area in February this year before driving to Buckstone Road where the victim was able to escape from the boot of the car.
Mr Emmanuel, 27, from Stevenage, Hertfordshire, was punched, kicked and struck with a blunt weapon duing the attack on February 10.
His clothing was cut and he was then stripped, blindfolded and trussed at a house in Gilmerton.
The four men drove Mr Emmanuel through the streets after accessing his online bank account and withdrawing money from it.
The naked victim managed to disable the vehicle by pulling out fuses and fending off his captors when they opened the boot of the vehicle on Buckstone Road.
Detective Inspector Bruce Coutts of Corstorphine CID said: “This was an extremely frightening experience for the victim and we believe that the men were intent on causing him serious harm.
“We are extremely grateful to the public and our colleagues from other forces who came forward to provide vital information which helped ensure this conviction.”
The four men denied assaulting and abducting Mr Emmanuel despite fingerpints and DNA evidence linking them to the car and house used in the attack.
